This book is not balanced.

I’m not going to present “both sides” of remote work or hedge with “it depends” and “results may vary.” I’ve run remote teams. I’ve seen what works. I have opinions.

Some of those opinions will make you uncomfortable. Good.

I’m going to tell you that most of what passes for “remote work” is actually office work done badly from home.

I’m going to tell you that your daily standups are a waste of time.

I’m going to tell you that your tracking software is an admission of failure.

If that bothers you, this isn’t your book.

If it excites you, keep reading.

How to read this:

Each chapter is short. Read them in order, or skip around. Dog-ear the ones that resonate. Argue with the ones that don’t.

But don’t just read. Do something. Change one thing Monday morning. Then another. Then another.

Remote excellence isn’t a destination. It’s a practice.
